Pioneer Railcorp

Other subsidiaries offer locomotive and freight car leasing to its own railroads and to third parties, as well as contract switching services. The company began as Pioneer Railroad Company, founded in 1986 by Guy L. Brenkman. Headquartered in Peoria, Illinois, the Pioneer Lines subsidiary manages more than 600 miles of shortline trackage serving over 100 customers. Commodities shipped on subsidiary lines include cottonseed, corn, fertilizer, meal, peanuts, soybeans, wheat, alcohol, charcoal, chemicals, flooring materials, frozen foods, lumber, paper products, plastics, scrap metal, finished steel, and wood products.
