krt_state The Kanawha River Terminal Railroad is a switching operation serving the Kanawha River Terminal (Ceredo Dock) facility, situated along the Ohio River west of Huntington, West Virginia. The railroad operation handles interchange with Norfolk Southern and CSK Transportation. The terminal has an annual throughput capacity of nearly 20 million tons and is equipped with a rotary dumper and a barge loader, the latter of which provides volume coal loading to barges. The facility and the switching railroad are owned by SunCoke Energy. A variety of first and second-generation motive power is maintained at an engine house in Ceredo, West Virginia, adjacent to the terminal.
