This quaint town and area of eastern Lancaster County includes miles of scenic backroads that invite you to explore the tranquil beauty of the area’s Amish Country. Here you’ll discover unusual attractions and things to do, an area that includes fine restaurants, unusual stores, and typical Lancaster County landmarks, such as a covered bridge, an old mill, and beautiful, peaceful Amish farmlands (once you get off the main road). Paradise is a small community located along Route 30 in eastern Lancaster County and is east of the outlets centers along Route 30. Paradise is north and east of Strasburg and just three miles south of Intercourse, PA. It’s also right next to Gordonville, Kinzers, and Soudersburg, not far from Bird-in-Hand, Gap, and Nickel Mines (where the Amish schoolhouse shooting took place).

The eastern terminus of the 4.5 mile Strasburg Rail Road is Paradise, Pennsylvania. Just southeast of the village center, the Strasburg line navigates its longest curve section to come alongside former Pennsylvania Railroad mainline trackage connecting Philadelphia to Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and points west. This busy line is electrified and hosts Amtrak's Keystone Corridor trains (see below). Class one successor to Conrail (ex Penn Central and Pennsylvania) Norfolk Southern provides local freight service along the route, including interchange service for the Strasburg. Interchange drop off and pick up for SRC includes transload freight shipments for Strasburg area customers, steam and passenger car equipment for SRC's contract backshop, and rolling stock bound for the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania. Here at Leaman Junction, in addition to a lead for interchange the Strasburg maintains a long run-around track. Outbound tourist trains always feature steam running in reverse; at Leaman Place locomotives run around their trains for proper orientation for the inbound trip back to East Strasburg. Outside the curved trackage there is a picnic grove available for tourist railroad patrons.

At Leaman Place Junction, the Strasburg comes alongside Amtrak's high-speed, double-track and electrified Keystone Corridor, used by regional Harrisburg-Philadelphia trains throughout the day as well as by Amtrak's state-sponsored daily Pennsylvanian service. The Keystone Corridor is former Pennsylvania Railroad mainline trackage, later Penn Central and then Conrail. Currently Norfolk Southern provides local freight service along the route.
