typewriter e are fortunate to have five ex-Long Island Railroad passenger cars in our collection of passenger equipment. These passenger cars were originally built for the Pennsylvania Railroad, which operated the trains on Long Island, NY. We set out many years ago to find matching cars for our train consist and have managed to scrounge up almost half the remaining 11 LIRR “ping pong” cars known to exist. They are vintage late 1920s or early 1930s, and they all have required extensive renovation. We also have a variety of other passenger cars, freight cars and cabooses of early 1930s or 1940s vintage, all in various stages of renovation.
