Escambia Railroad

aslc_state A subsidiary of the mill operation, the Escambia Railroad ran from the Alger-Sullivan Lumber Company sawmill facility in Century, Florida, more than 55 miles into south Alabama to haul cut pine logs used in the mill. The line was abandoned in the early 1950s, placing the company's interesting collection of Heisler geared locomotives in a dead line in Century.
